Hi, did you watch the second season of Netflix’s Temptation Islandin one sitting (guilty) and now need to know where all the couples stand in our good year in 2026? Considering this season was filmed back in August 2025, a LOT has changed since cameras stopped rolling…and ahead of the reunion, fans were definitely looking for clues. Here’s what I personally need to know: What happened to Sydney and Xzavier after Temptation Island?
As a reminder: Sydney McGregor arrived in Kona with her boyfriend of one-and-a-half years, Mikey Bivens—but it wasn’t long before Xzavier Odom caught her eye. After watching Mikey’s flirty behavior with the “three amigos” during the first bonfire (and receiving a very sweet card from Xzavier), a new relationship blossomed, and by the end of the experiment, Sydney and Xzavier decided to leave paradise together. But did their love last? The answer is…complicated!
During the reunion, it was revealed that—just four days after filming wrapped—Sydney broke things off with Xzavier. As she explained it: “I wasn’t going to jump into another relationship, although I was dating him on the island. Mikey was my best friend.”
What’s more: She actually got back together with Mikey…though things only ended up lasting three months.
That said, after things ended (again) with Mikey, Sydney did reach out to Xzavier about four months ago, asking him to get coffee. “We spoke about everything. I told him everything me and Mikey went through. I told him I’m really working on myself and trying to process everything,” she said. And though she reiterated to Nick Viall that she’s “just focusing on” herself at the moment, who knows what the future holds?
I mean, it definitely seems like the two are still friendly. Aside from the fact that they still follow each other on social media, Sydney recently posted a vid featuring a bunch of the guys from the villa, including Xzavier (wait for the end):
And Xzavier even slid into her comments on Instagram to write, “When you make me smile.”

While chatting with Cosmoahead of the season premiere, Sydney had nothing but good things to say about her Temptation Island connection. “When I first met Xzavier, it really felt like a friendship. And I didn’t look at him in terms of like somebody I could possibly like, somebody I would possibly date, or anything like that,” she said, adding that when she did fall for him, “I was just shocked. I was blown away.”
Still holding out hope for these two!
